SIMA Madrid May 2009

The SIMA International Real Estate Conference was held the end of May in Madrid Spain in 2009. I had the opportunity to speak at the conference and to participate in several round table discussions. It was a fascinating experience. First, the economy is truly global, and everyone is impacted by the down turn. Secondly, assess to mortgage money is also a global challenge. Third, the Mexicans, Brazilians, and Argentineans all have had great experience with these kinds of down turns. Their collective advise: this will pass, do what you need to do to get through it. Finally, there are great opportunities in this globally weak real estate market.
